Plattsburg Ave to Shore Road

Overview:

  • Two automobile lanes.
  • Painted buffered bike lanes in each direction.
  • Parking in this area is being traded with bike lanes for this pilot project. Parking counts show very low use of the on-street parking and adjacent residents provided input about this change at the November meeting of the task force.
  • Parking will remain in front of St. Mark’s.

Shore Road to 127 Ramps

Overview:

  • Existing four motor vehicle lanes of travel will be converted into three lanes; two through lanes with a turning lane.
  • Intersections will have dedicated left turn lanes.
  • Bike lanes in each direction.

127 Ramps to Institute Road

Overview:

  • Parking on both sides of the street will be traded with protected bike lanes, to provide better sight lines, and to narrow the roadway for slower speeds during the pilot project.
    • Parking counts show very low use of the on-street parking and adjacent residents provided input about this change at the November meeting of the task force.
  • Two lanes of motor vehicle travel.
  • Protected bike lanes in each direction.

Institute Road to Washington St.

Overview:

  • Two lanes of motor vehicle travel.
  • Existing bike lanes will become painted buffered bike lanes.

Washington St. to North St.

Overview:

  • The two lanes of motor vehicle travel will become narrowed to slow speeds.
  • Parking will remain on west side of street.
  • Southbound lane will receive a sharrow for shared bike/motor vehicle travel.
  • Northbound motor vehicle and bike lanes will remain unchanged.
